B2GC Conference Promotes Collaboration between Blockchain Experts and Thai Government Officials

The Blockchain to Government Conference (B2GC) was held from January 17 to 19, 2024, at Phuket, Thailand’s prestigious Blockchain Technology Centre. Finstable, a major blockchain company at the forefront of Thailand’s digital economy and society, held the conference, which successfully brought together prominent blockchain personalities and government officials to foster collaboration across different fields.

Among the notable participants was Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat, who highlighted the digital economy’s role as a crucial engine of future growth as he delivered the event’s keynote speech, “Thailand’s Growth Engine.” Governor Sophon Suwannarat emphasized the importance of the digital economy to Thailand’s economic growth, as well as the Thai government’s commitment to peace and security. He discussed enhancing national competitiveness through digitalization, using the country’s talent capital for digital potential, and promoting world-class blockchain technology development. The governor’s remarks set the path for Thailand’s next stage of digital economic and social growth.

He also emphasized the Thai government’s focus on collaboration, particularly with China. He went on to say that the Prime Minister signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with China during his visit. The agreement includes a wide range of themes, including investment and trade, artificial intelligence (AI), big data, blockchain, infrastructure development, culture, and travel. He expressed hope for sustained efforts to improve collaboration with China, asserting that Thailand and China will deepen ties in economics, investment, trade, and blockchain. He emphasized the ongoing deepening of partnership across all sectors, expecting a future defined by greater synergy between the two nations.

The B2GC Conference is indeed a valuable platform for discussion, information exchange, and building relationships between the blockchain industry and government authorities, which are centered on promoting the digital economy, laying the groundwork for future collaborations that would assist Thailand’s digital environment to flourish and thrive.
