B2GC Event: Unlocking Thailand’s Digital Future (Day 1)

The recently finished B2GC Event in Phuket, Thailand, brought together visionaries, government representatives, and industry executives on a platform meant to explore the revolutionary possibilities of blockchain technology. Sophon Suwannarat, Governor of Phuket Province, and Dr. Passakon Prathombutr, Senior Executive Vice President of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency, were the event’s Guest of Honors, setting the tone for the discussion of blockchain’s critical role in the digital economy.  

The first day featured several prominent speakers, including Prof. Tongthong Chandransu, who discussed the legal elements of blockchain and its implications for company development. His emphasis on legal matters in the blockchain area highlighted the importance of establishing a strong legal framework in order to fully realize its potential.

Samret Wajanasathian, CTO of Bitkub Blockchain Technology, took the stage next and gave an in-depth introduction of blockchain technology. Attendees received a comprehensive understanding of the technology’s fundamental concepts as well as its applicability in many fields.

Sathapon Patanakuha, CEO of SmartContract Blockchain Studio, wrapped up Day 1 by delving into the principles of blockchain. He explained the key concepts and benefits of this disruptive technology, laying the groundwork for a deeper dive on Day 2.

The day’s first panel discussion included renowned Thai digital personalities such as Dr. Passakon Prathombutr, Senior Executive Vice President of DEPA, Khanit Phatong, ETDA Director, and Nattawat Woranopakul, Senior Executive Vice President of DGA.

Prof. Dr. Warodom Werapun, Dr. Kitt Tientanopajai, and Dr. Worrawat Saijai, discussed the challenges of incorporating blockchain technology into academic curricula, the importance of hands-on experience, and collaboration between academia and industry.

Under the expert supervision of Dr. Phadet Jinda, CEO of Finstable, the conversation completed the day, providing a fitting conclusion to a day full of unique thoughts on the future of blockchain education.
